​​​​​​​​​Middlesbrough Children Matter has a permanent job vacancy for a Social Worker within Early Help Services based in Middlesbrough offering a salary between £27,041 - £28,672 per annum (subject to progression).

You will work within Stronger Families, offering Trauma Informed practice and Early Help to families in Middlesbrough to families that revolve between Early Help and Children Social Care.

Stronger Families carries out early help family caseworkworking in a restorative and trauma informed approach to strengthen families and reduce the number of children and young people requiring acute service interventions. As part of this role, you will be required todevelop and deliver early help support with identified families to increase family resilience and improve outcomes for children and families.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To support a whole family approach and deliver intensive family interventions within a multi-agency environment to intervene at the earliest opportunity.

  • To work with a range of stakeholders and partners to create bespoke programmes that engage children, young people and families to improve outcomes using evidence based practice.

  • To work in an innovative and challenging way with families to enable children and young people to reach their full potential, empower parents to provide good levels of parenting and early literacy and support parents into training or work.

  • To co-ordinate multi-disciplinary early help approaches using agreed assessment planning, monitoring and quality assurance processes which meet inspection frameworks.

  • To maintain, update and record accurate caseload data on appropriate management information systems.

Requirements of the Post include:

1. A recognised Social Work qualification, e.g. CQSW, CSS, Dip SW.
2. Social Work England registration (HCPC)
3. Must have full driving license and use of car with business insurance.
4. Evidence of training in areas related to vulnerable children, young people and families.
