​​​​​​​​​Middlesbrough Children Matter has a permanent job vacancy for an Early Years Practitioner based in Middlesbrough offering a salary of £20,092 per annum.
A vacancy has arisen for qualified early years practitioners, as part of Children’s Services. You will be joining the Local Authority Nurseries, based at StainsbyNursery, and will assist in the day-care setting, in line with Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.  

This will involve setting the standards for learning, development and care for children aged birth to five, to ensure the setting is ready for inspection by Ofsted.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist and deliver learning programmes in context of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, ensuring standards of safe practice and confidentiality by developing a high quality, consistent service that enables every child to make progress and supports them to learn, develop and be healthy and safe.  

  • As part of the key worker role, provide a secure foundation, delivering a challenging learning and development opportunities that are planned around the needs and interests of each individual child, including children with diverse and complex needs and are reviewed and assessed regularly to measure progression.

  • Work in partnership with parents, carers, schools, colleagues and partner agencies to identify areas of need, including the Early Help Strategy, signpost/refer to supportive services and engage families in their children’s learning and development, ensuring the sharing of information

Requirements of the Post include:

1. Minimum level 3 childcare qualification.
2. Working knowledge of Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
3. Good knowledge of child development to support children’s learning, development and care.
Ability to communicate well with adults and children.
5. Able to work as part of a team and use own initiative.
